Tortoise Media has produced useful presentations of some of my data on referral rates and children placed for adoption. The article titled “The poor parents” starts by quoting some of my research saying:

• One in five children in England are referred to social services; 75,000 are in care
• Children in Blackpool are removed eight times more frequently than in Richmond
• The numbers lay bare a system that takes more children from poor families

It goes on to produce some novel visualisations of this data – well worth a read!
